Founded in 1995, the IPSG provides members with a forum to aid in the communication regarding the patellofemoral joint. Unlike traditional orthopaedic surgery formal organizations, the small number is truly a "study group" at present with common goals.

While under development, the site is first directed at speeding communication among members. Once position papers have been approved, they will appear for all to review. During paper review, only members may review the "works in progress" through use of their password.
